Are you fed up of doing the same thing for Christmas do you want to do something different this year? Why not go away on holiday over the Christmas and New Year period, you could go to a hotel or a B&B but I think that there is little that can beat going to a log cabin over the Christmas period. The log cabin structure it’s self just conjures up pictures a lodges in lap land and the snowier regions of the world. If you can manage to find a cabin that has a real fire or a log burner the Christmas scene can be completed.

Going away for Christmas will mean that you can also avoid all of the awkward conversations with family about who is going to come to who, who will cook and who will sleep where. You can side step all of these conversations just tell them that you’re going away for Christmas.

Perhaps you like to have your family around though at Christmas time, some log cabins will sleep up to 8 people and so it can actually be a cost effective way to spend you Christmas holiday. There are some things thought that you will have to think about in advance. For example you will need to think about the food that you take with, because it’s unlikely that you will find any shops that are open over Christmas. When you’re at home at least you’ll be able to find, beg, borrow or steal some stuffing from someone.

If you’re in the UK and you decide to go up North to Scotland and the Highlands you may even be graced by some snow! If you’re reading this and you not in the UK this probably won’t mean anything to you, but having snow at Christmas in the UK is a big deal. So instead of waiting for the snow to come to you, you could go and find the snow.

There’s another reason that I think log cabins are an excellent place to go on holiday to. I’m a dog owner and in the past have found it very difficult to find nice, clean and modern self catering accommodation that will take two dogs. If I were going away over Christmas I certainly wouldn’t want to put my dogs in kennels - I like to spend time with my dogs and I’d also had to pay a considerable sum of money before I’ve even paid for the log cabin. So for me a log cabin is an ideal place to go away to over Christmas - they’re big enough to accommodate a large family and I can take my dogs.
