The Bellas National Museum Artes of Argentina is situated in the Avenue of Liberator 1473 of the City of Buenos Aires but for the time being it is occupying the old House of Pumps, building appertaining to the establishments Recoleta de Sanitary Obras of the Nation. The first seat which this national museum adjudicated down was in the galleries of Bon I marched, of the Flowery Street.
In 1909, the Museum was relocated to the Argentine Pavilion. For two decades the works persisted there and later was established in their authoritative seat of the Avenue of the Liberator. Alexander Bustillo rectified the building in accordance to the requirements of a museum. Maintaining the archetype look Bustillo contrived a fresh porch. He remodeled the interior of the museum in such a way so that the guests can relish an attractive and enlightening reflection. In 23 rd May 1933, the present seat was introduced, in the comportment of the President of the Nation, Agustín P. Just. While on 22 nd October 1931the Association of Friends had been formed. The museum underwent several reforms after its inauguration.
Today this museum houses around 11.000 etchings, carvings, arrases, pictures, drawings and objects , 1,500 of which deals on loan from various state departments. The oldest work that you will see here is the Virgin with Child which dates from the 12th century. The appeal of this museum is unique both nationally and internationally. It incorporates the paintings of Greco, Rubens, Goes of Velde, Tiziano, Tiepolo and Goya, and many others. While the French paintings of Corot, Manet, Boudin, Rodin, Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec, and others of the nineteenth century are displayed here. The works of the Spanish artists comprising of Ramon Houses, Genaro Perez de Villaamil, and Ignacio Zuloaga can be found here. Even today renowned artist from all over the globe can display their work in world famous museum.
