It is home to the entire Northern Ice Fields where innumerable rivers and lakes are born. You can also view the Mount San Valentín which is the highest peak in Southern Andes. The arena of ice stretches over this mountain and the neighboring hills and is the source of 19 glaciers. The most spectacular and attractive view is the breaking of the huge masses of ice large from the glaciers and ramming into the lake with an earsplitting roar.

Flora and fauna
Besides the glaciers and the lakes there are rich diversity of both water and land birds like the black-browed albatross, huala duck, black necked swan, and the cormorant, and many others. You can also wonder at the dolphins, fur seals, chungungos, and elephant seals.

Other Attractions
At the San Rafael Lagoon National Park, you can coddle yourself in sea kayaking in the lagoon, fishing and trekking, plant and animal observation, photography, mountaineering.
