Reston is a great place with plenty to see and do but where should you stay? Picking the right hotel can have a big impact on your stay and choosing the right hotel can be tough, here are some tips to help you decide on a hotel in Reston.
Tip 1: Have a Plan
If you are going to be staying in Reston then obviously you have a reason to be there but do you have a plan? If your vacation or site seeing what do you want to visit? are you going to be driving? If you’re staying on business what do you need to be close to? How long are you staying? Do you need a hotel with laundry service? This ties directly into our next tip. Location.
Tip 2: Location Location Location
While looking at hotels take note of their location. What is near by? You’re going to have to eat and when traveling it’s normally out, are there any restaurants near by? Is your hotel near the sites you want to see? Close to the Metro? Do they offer a shuttle to Dulles airport or the Metro? If you’re not going to be driving this becomes even more important. Location is closely related to our next tip. Price.
Tip 3: Price $$$
How much are you willing to pay? If you want to stay at Reston Town Center (which is by far the best place to stay in terms of restaurants, stores, nearby activities and events) then be prepared to pay a little extra. If you’re the bargain hunter type then you should check out the hotels in Herndon. Herndon is only a few miles from the town center and they have a much wider range of hotels and motels, normally at a lower rate.
Reston is an amazing one of a kind community with plenty of activities to enjoy. I hope these tips help you find a hotel in Reston and make your visit more enjoyable. Some things to check out would be.

- The Reston Town Center - over 50 stores 20 restaurants and host to many concerts and festivals throughout the year
